· You have ever felt like you do not belong in the gym because of your size
· You shy away from being in photos because of how you see yourself
· You have lost/regained the same stubborn pounds over and over again
· You have an incredibly hectic life or work weird shift hours that seem to keep getting in the way of your health and fitness goals
· You have started and stopped a fitness or diet routine more times than you can count
· You want to be functionally fit, as in, able to carry the 20lb bag of dog food, play with your kids/grandkids, get out of a chair when you are 70
· You feel overwhelmed by all the information on social media regarding what is best exercise and nutrition wise, and you stall out due to information overload
· You want more energy, but restful sleep seems to be elusive

If you raised your hand for any of the above, you are in the right place. The goal of Confidence Code Coaching is to help you create sustainable long-term habits that tie in the mind AND body, focusing on consistency and accountability backed up by solid planning and personal experience. Let me show you how to unlock a healthier version of yourself.
Hi! My name is Laura, and I am the owner of Confidence Code Coaching. I am a certified NASM Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, hold a specialization in Women's Fitness, and work full time as a registered nurse.
What sets me apart from some others in the industry is I have been there, and still have room to improve in many respects. I have been 220 pounds, uncomfortable, diagnosed with high blood pressure, bad knees, unable to fit into anything but men's sizes in most trendy stores. I have gone through the roller coaster of losing weight only to gain it back, embarrassed to go into a gym because of my size or feeling disconnected from working with a trainer whom I was pretty sure had never spent a day in a body my size, trying to outwork a bad diet (spoiler alert, you can't), and trying the fad/quick fixes along the way (spoiler alert #2, there is no long-term magic pill for a healthy lifestyle). I have had less than charitable thoughts about my bathroom scale. I have overtrained to the point of putting my cortisol levels through the roof, thinking more is better and ignoring how critical the factors of proper sleep, recovery, nutrition, and stress management are to losing weight when you are a woman. I have felt that a healthy life was out of my reach as I entered my 40s. I was wrong.
While I am healthier now than I have been in a long time, I still have several areas that jiggle like jello in an earthquake. I have never met a donut or a cookie that I didn't want on a deep personal level. There are days I flat out do not want to do my workout. I am nowhere close to a shredded size 0. I struggle with many of the same temptations and barriers you do.
All this to say, I started Confidence Code Coaching for women who want a real, relatable coach to help them shift their mindset, get stronger, eat better and most importantly build the foundation for a healthier, happier, more confident life. I would love to talk with you and see how I can help you reach your goals.
Love the gym or traditional workouts? Great. Hate both with a passion? Cool, I can work with that. Do you have an existing workout routine or connected fitness community that you work with, but you want to refine structure or add variety? Awesome, we can incorporate all of that. Moving your body is key to a healthy lifestyle. Thankfully, there are almost limitless ways to move which exist outside the traditional box. Let's talk and find out what activities work for you. The more it works for you, the more likely you are to stick with it. #Consistency
Functional training methods focus on building strength, flexibility, and balance for everyday movements. Improve your posture, reduce pain, and enhance your quality of life. These foundational movements are key to reduce injury and promote recovery.
I will work with you one-on-one to create a customized workout plan that fits your goals, lifestyle, and needs. Get the support and accountability you need to achieve your best results with the equipment that is available to you. Fitness is for everyone but is absolutely not one size fits all.
Repeat after me: You cannot outwork a bad diet. I have tried and failed miserably, and all it got me was a poor relationship with food. There is no good or bad food. You don't have to "earn" your food. Let me help you find nutrition solutions that help you feel empowered to succeed.
Training can take place anywhere through the wonders of technology. If you are in the LA area and want to train in person, we can work that out. If you are out of the area, remote training is something I am set up to accommodate.
I want you to reach your end goal and hit all the smaller, confidence-building mile markers along the journey. I personally understand how critical it is to have someone in your corner when you are building a healthier life. I provide weekly check ins, monthly 1:1 video workouts, and additional availability via text for those times when you just need to reach out to someone with a question.
If you are brand new to fitness or re-committing for what feels like the billionth time, let me help you create a program of movement and lifestyle that will work for you. Some folks work weird shifts (night shift workers, I see you), long hours, have multiple responsibilities so going to the gym for hours just is not in the cards. Everyone has barriers so a one-size-fits-all approach to planning and scheduling a wellness routine just flat out does not work. I can program a routine for in-home, outdoor, gym-based locations. The number on the scale or the size of your clothes do not determine your value. You are worth the investment for a healthier future you.
Are you a new diabetic or pre-diabetic? New or chronic uncontrolled high blood pressure? Having trouble demystifying what you are supposed to eat and when? What is good for your body versus bad with your new illness? I can help walk you through the basics of what is happening inside and how the food you put into your body impacts your health. You would be shocked how many protein bars have a very similar nutrition profile to a candy bar, or how much sodium is hidden in everyday foods. Little things you were not even aware of are likely creating setbacks to your progress. Information overload is a real thing when confronting a chronic illness. Let me take some of the complicated learning off your plate (pun intended).
Pregnancy and post partem are amazing times, but also come with changes in how the body moves, feels, recovers and fuels. Moving and eating for two can have its pitfalls. You have enough on your mind already with a new little one on the way, let me do some of the heavy mental lifting when it comes to safely staying fit and healthy during this time.
**I offer general information and guidelines. All information regarding medical treatment must come from your medical doctor**
The world of nutrition is confusing. Social media posts promising quick fixes, cleanses, detox programs all promise great results, but very few of those claims are backed by evidence. If there were truly one magic fruit, drink, powder, pill, supplement that could transform a person's health without appropriate body movement (exercise) or a balanced diet, everyone would be doing it. Let me help you build a sustainable approach to eating that focuses on moderation versus restriction and will help you reach your fitness and wellness goals.

Being both a CPT and CNC, I can offer the structure of a complete wellness program. Clients will get workouts that incorporate stretching, mobility, balance, weights and cardio in a manner that take into account ability and needed personalized modifications. Clients choosing both fitness and nutrition programs will also get nutritional guidance and help navigating the confusing world of food/body fueling. Clients will also have access to Zoom/video workout sessions once a month to ensure proper form, answer any workout questions, and share feedback. I am also a registered nurse. While I will not be diagnosing anything or offering medical advice, I do have deeper knowledge than most about how the body works, how chronic illnesses impact fitness, what that annual lab work means and how medications impact the body. Most importantly, clients will have access to a coach who will be available and help with accountability while adjusting the program for life's ups and downs with empathy and humor.
If you are an elite or advanced athlete looking to podium your next race, I am not your coach. There are plenty of specialized folks for that niche. If you are a woman who is brand new or looking to get back into fitness, have plateaued in your current progress, or are looking for nutrition coaching to supplement your fitness routine, I am here to help.
Habits take time to build. We have become so accustomed to what I call Amazon Prime culture where we expect everything immediately. True changes to fitness and nutrition take time and results are not always instant. The first few weeks/month of the program will be focused on getting to know you, your preferences, assessing movement (including locating muscle imbalances and form issues) through Zoom/video conference workouts, and incorporating stretching/balance/mobility into your life to lessen the chance of being derailed by an injury down the line. On the nutrition front, I believe in making appropriate adjustments that stack on top of one another to make change easier and more sustainable versus "ripping off the Band-Aid" and doing a wholesale diet change immediately. Think back to anytime you tried to swear off all sweets or decided to go keto/paleo/(insert restrictive diet here). How long did that last before you raided the pantry? Smaller, stacked changes in both your fitness and eating habits lead to longer term consistency and success. This was all the long way of saying; positive change is not shiny or sexy. It takes time. While the big changes might not be noticeable right from the start, I promise you will notice your confidence and self-esteem growing as you realize you can achieve your goals.
I have been there. I have paid the trainer at the big box gym $350 a month for non-personalized sessions one to two times a week with no real nutritional guidance (several times in my life). I have dumped thousands into supplements and fitness memberships that went nowhere. My goal is to give you value that you can't get from the box gym or AI for your hard-earned money.
$200/month for fitness coaching- includes workouts changed monthly (type, frequency, modifications to be determined after initial intake session), weekly check ins, 1 Zoom meeting/month to go over initial exercises and form, 24 hour or less response time via text. Workouts can be home or gym based and will include cardio, weights, mobility, stretching and balance work.
$150/month for nutrition coaching- initial dietary assessment including food preferences and habits (because what is the point of making recommendations if you hate or are allergic to certain foods), weekly check ins to track macros/calories/progress and to identify/deal with any barriers that occurred, food and nutrition label 101, grocery shopping and recipe tips, help decoding food myths from truths, 24 hour or less response time via text.
$300/month to bundle fitness and nutrition coaching
